On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, the Hospitality & Tourism Student Association, or commonly known as HMP Hospar, Bunda Mulia University Serpong Campus held a public lecture with the theme of “Western Indonesian Fusion Cooking Demo and Plating” which was held offline at The UBM Master Kitchen 10th floor UBM Tower Serpong Campus. This activity involved HMP Hospar members as the organizing committee, with the 2nd and 4th semester students of Bunda Mulia University Serpong Campus as participants.
This activity aims to provide knowledge about the important role of arranging and decorating a dish, the process of arranging and decorating fusion food, the Western-Indonesian fusion food processing, and the practice of arranging condiments in Western-Indonesian fusion food dishes, especially to students in the 2nd and 4th semesters of Hospitality & Tourism study program of Bunda Mulia University Serpong Campus. This event invited Bryan C. Ferrysienanda, who is an experienced chef and had participated in Masterchef Indonesia Season 8, as a guest speaker. This activity was hosted by the MC of the event, Delvin Sutejo and Felicia Ariana Deran Seran, who are members of the HMP Hospar equipment and marketing divisions. The Indonesia Raya song and UBM Hymn became the opening session at this event, then continued with remarks from the Serpong Campus Hospitality & Tourism secretary, Ms. Andari Tirtadidjaja, SST.Par., M.Tr.Par and the Serpong Hospitality & Tourism HMP coach, Ms. Roozana Maria Ritonga, BBA., M.Par. After that the event was continued with a practical session by the speaker who was assisted by Yenly Wijaya as an assistant. The participants could also ask questions to the speaker in this session. Token of Appreciation was given by Ms. Roozana as a symbol of gratitude to the speaker.
The hope of this event is that students in the 2nd and 4th semesters of the Hospitality & Tourism study program gain knowledge about the important role of arranging and decorating a dish, especially in Western Indonesian fusion food. HMP Hospar also hopes that with this event, the insights provided by the speaker can help students in knowing how to arrange condiments in a Western Indonesian fusion food dish.
