Tangerang, May 31, 2025 – Two students from the Bachelor of Hospitality & Tourism program at Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM), Styven Edricsen (Student ID: 19230116) and Celvin Christianto (Student ID: 19230164), achieved remarkable success in the prestigious Elle & Vire Young Chef Competition 2025, held on May 30-31, 2025, at Universitas Pelita Harapan, Tangerang.
This competition attracted over 500 participants from various educational institutions and hospitality industries across Indonesia. Out of these, only the top 24 participants in each category* advanced to the semifinal round.
In the semifinal round, participants in the Pastry category were challenged to create a banana cake and plated dessert, while the Cooking category challenged participants to prepare hot soup and a main course. All challenges were carried out live within a three-hour time frame, followed by the presentation of their dishes to professional judges from the culinary industry.
Among UBM’s two representatives, Styven Edricsen successfully advanced to the final round, securing a spot in the top 12 nationally. This is an outstanding achievement, considering the intense competition and high evaluation standards. Meanwhile, Celvin Christianto had to stop at the semifinal stage, but still delivered an excellent performance that deserves recognition.
Other competitors included participants from prestigious institutions and renowned industries, such as Universitas Trisakti, Podomoro, Pradita, UPH, Ciputra, APCA, AKPAR NHI Bandung, Akademi Tataboga Bandung, Politeknik Pariwisata Makassar, Politeknik Pariwisata Medan, Politeknik Internasional Bali, The Sages International, as well as industry players like JW Marriott Surabaya, Vloven Patisserie, PT. Freyabadi Indotama, Bali Dynasty Resort, and Maya Sanur Resort & Spa.
This achievement is the result of hard work and intensive guidance from their mentors, Mr. Yudhiet Fajar Dewantara and Prayogo Susanto. UBM fully appreciates the dedication of these students and continues to encourage the development of excellence in the culinary and hospitality fields.
