Community Service: Supporting the Strengthening of Traditional Shop Capabilities through Collaboration with Alfamart
Jakarta, July 16, 2026 – Traditional stalls are still one of the main drivers of the Indonesian economy. Amidst rapid technological developments and increasingly fierce competition, stalls are required to be able to adapt in order to survive and thrive. Given this situation, the Management study program at Bunda Mulia University collaborated with Alfamart to support the development of stall businesses so that they are better prepared to face business challenges in the current era.
In this activity, Dr. Siti Yasmina Zubaedah, BSIE, MSIE., a lecturer in the Management study program at Bunda Mulia University, along with two Management study students, Sierryn Christabelle Panca and Siska Riana, presented the results of the mapping of traditional stall capabilities to Alfamart. The presentation was part of the Community Service Program (PKM) which aims to support the development of traditional stall capabilities. The mapping provides an overview of the conditions of stalls in running their businesses, from aspects of entrepreneurship, financial management, organization, to the use of technology. In addition, it also examines marketing and supply chain aspects as factors that support the operation and sustainability of the stall business.
This activity provided a forum for discussion between the Bunda Mulia University team, Alfamart representatives regarding the various challenges faced by traditional stalls amidst ever-growing business competition. Through this discussion, all parties gained a deeper understanding of the current condition of stalls and identified opportunities that can be developed through mentoring programs in the next stage.
The activity concluded with a group photo session as a symbol of collaboration in supporting the strengthening of traditional stall capabilities. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that traditional stalls can become more adaptive, competitive, and able to develop sustainably amidst the dynamics of the business world.
