Trauma is an emotional experience that can leave a deep imprint on a person, even long after the event occurs. While not always physically visible, the impact of trauma can affect how a person thinks, feels, and interacts with their environment. For students, the demanding college years, social pressures, and the process of discovering identity often become a time when past emotional wounds resurface and affect psychological well-being and interpersonal relationships.
Inner child trauma, or emotional wounds formed during childhood, is one form of trauma that often goes unnoticed. Unresolved emotional experiences from the past can be reflected in current behavioral patterns, such as difficulty trusting others, fear of failure, or being too hard on oneself. Understanding and managing trauma is not just about remembering the past, but also about learning to recognize oneself, accepting those experiences, and developing a healthier perspective on life.
Recognizing the importance of this understanding, the Student Advisory Center (SAC) of Bunda Mulia University, Serpong Campus, held a seminar entitled ” Healing the Unseen: Navigating Trauma in Life .” This seminar aims to help students recognize what trauma is and how it affects daily life, understand the connection between inner child trauma and current behavior, and learn strategies for managing the impact of trauma effectively. This activity is also expected to be an educational space for students to realize the importance of the self -healing process and building sustainable mental well-being.
The seminar will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 11:00–1:00 PM WIB, at the Lecture Hall, 5th Floor, Alfa Tower. The seminar will be open to all Bunda Mulia University students, Serpong Campus, free of charge, with a target of 200 participants. Through this activity, the Student Advisory Center hopes that students will understand that trauma is not a sign of weakness, but rather part of the human journey to growth. By recognizing, accepting, and managing trauma in a healthy way, students are expected to be able to recover, strengthen their mental health, and create more positive relationships with themselves and others.
