Jakarta, 04/22/2026 – The Academic Public Lecture activity was held by the Digital Business study program of Bunda Mulia University (UBM), entitled “ Innovation in the Digital Age: Adapting to New Trends in Marketing & SEO “ which took place at The UBM Premiere Classroom, Ancol Campus. This activity is part of an effort to increase students’ understanding of the importance of SEO in digital marketing amidst the dynamics of the ever-growing digital industry. This public lecture presented an experienced practitioner resource person, Marlin Silviana, ST, MM , who has expertise in the field of digital marketing, especially in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies, thus providing relevant and applicable insights for students.

The event proceeded smoothly and enthusiastically, with students not only following the presentations but also actively participating in the discussion and Q&A sessions. This interaction created a dynamic learning environment and encouraged students to think critically about the application of SEO in real-world contexts. The presence of industry practitioners provided a firsthand perspective on implementing digital marketing strategies, enabling students to more concretely understand the challenges and needs faced in the workplace.

In the presentation session, students were equipped with a comprehensive understanding of SEO implementation in digital marketing, starting from the importance of using the right keywords to increase brand visibility, how search engine algorithms work, to content optimization strategies to be able to reach the target audience effectively. In addition, various practical strategies were also discussed such as creating quality content based on market needs, utilizing analytical data to evaluate performance, integrating SEO with social media marketing, and the importance of consistency in building brand credibility. This discussion emphasized that SEO is not only a technical aspect, but an important part of a long-term business strategy that plays a role in increasing organic traffic and supporting sustainable brand growth. This public lecture is also part of the curriculum strengthening for the digital marketing interest, specifically in deepening the practical implementation of the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) course.
Overall, this public lecture made a positive contribution in broadening students’ understanding of the strategic role of SEO in digital marketing. Through hands-on learning from practitioners, students are expected to be able to apply SEO strategies effectively and adaptively in the increasingly competitive digital era, while also strengthening their readiness to face the ever-evolving demands of the industry.
