On June 24-25, 2024, BPPTIK of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) in Bekasi hosted a digital marketing training for the tourism sector attended by a lecturer from Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM), Yudhiet Fajar Dewantara, S.Pd., M.Par. This event aimed to enhance digital marketing skills for business practitioners in the tourism industry.
The training focused on utilizing digital tools, software, and social media to improve the experience of prospective tourists. With material covering the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), participants were taught various digital marketing techniques such as Chatbot, WhatsApp Marketing, Email Marketing, and Canva for Business.
During the two-day training, participants successfully developed essential skills in tourism marketing. They are now able to use WhatsApp and Email for marketing, and create basic Chatbots for customer service. Additionally, participants learned how to use Canva, WhatsApp Business, and email tools to effectively reach potential tourists. The training’s outcome was the participants’ ability to create marketing templates that can be applied via WhatsApp and email.
With this training, it is expected that tourism business practitioners will become more competitive in the global market, utilizing digital technology to reach a wider and more diverse target audience. This event demonstrated that leveraging digital technology and AI can be an effective strategy in developing the tourism business in this modern era.
