Jakarta, March 6, 2026 – The iCare Student Activity Unit of Bunda Mulia University, Ancol Campus, conducted a social visit to the Melania Pademangan Nursing Home, North Jakarta, with the theme “Happiness Belongs to Every Age.” This activity aims to bring happiness, attention, and affection to the elderly through togetherness and warm interactions between students and residents of the home.

The activity began with a brief introduction about the profile of the Melania Pademangan Nursing Home delivered by representatives of the shelter, then continued with remarks from representatives of the shelter, the PIC of the activity, the supervisor of iCare Ancol Campus, and the Chair of iCare Ancol Campus. After that, the elderly who are familiarly called opah and omah were invited to participate in a painting activity on tote bags with the committee. Through this activity, the participants were able to express their creativity while building an atmosphere of togetherness by chatting and sharing stories with students.

The event continued with a “Write Your Happiness” session, where the elderly and their families were invited to write about the things that make them happy in life. Memories with family, valuable experiences, and even simple things that bring a sense of gratitude became part of the stories they wrote. Throughout the process, the committee assisted and helped the elderly who had difficulty writing, making this activity not only a means of expression but also a space to reminisce about precious moments in their lives.

As a form of social care, iCare Bunda Mulia University also handed over a donation to the Melania Pademangan Werdha Panti, which was handed over by the PIC of the activity together with representatives of the Student Affairs Division and Icare Supervisors to the shelter. The activity then closed with a group photo session between the committee and the elderly. Through this activity, iCare Bunda Mulia University hopes to continue to foster social care among students and bring happiness and warmth to the opah and omah. It is hoped that this activity can provide benefits and leave a good impression for all parties involved. iCare, WeCare!
