Jakarta, Saturday, July 26, 2025 – As part of its continuous efforts to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application, the Management Study Program of Universitas Bunda Mulia successfully held a soft skills training session entitled “Ngobrol Bareng Alumni” – Ilmu Retail yang Tertata, Relevan di Banyak Industri. The event aimed to enhance students’ non-academic competencies and career preparedness in an increasingly dynamic and competitive job market.
The session featured Mr. Steven Ng, a distinguished alumnus of the Management Study Program, who has built a successful career in the national retail industry. Drawing from his extensive professional experience, Mr. Ng delivered insightful perspectives on the strategic application of retail management knowledge. He emphasized that structured retail strategies are not only vital within the retail sector but are also adaptable and valuable in various industries such as logistics, manufacturing, and digital services.
Mr. Ng encouraged students to see retail not just as a product-selling business but as a comprehensive system involving operations, marketing, customer behavior, and data-driven decision-making. He also underlined the importance of mastering soft skills such as communication, adaptability, teamwork, and problem-solving all of which are essential in navigating the modern workplace.
The discussion was moderated by Mr. Very Budiyanto, a lecturer in the Management Study Program at Universitas Bunda Mulia. With his engaging and open approach, Mr. Budiyanto facilitated an interactive dialogue between the speaker and the audience, turning the session into a vibrant forum for knowledge exchange.

The event was attended by 160 active students from the Management Study Program, who participated enthusiastically in the sharing session and Q&A discussion. The students gained valuable insights into the practical relevance of their academic studies and were inspired to pursue their career paths with greater clarity and confidence.
