Bunda Mulia University (UBM) Ancol Campus once again demonstrated its commitment to equipping students with a comprehensive understanding of academic and career paths in the tourism industry through a seminar entitled “ Future Compass: Exploring Your Academic Direction ”. This activity was held on Friday, February 27, at The UBM Master Kitchen, Bunda Mulia University Ancol Campus. This seminar was specifically intended for Semester 2 students of the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program as part of the Major Exploration activity, namely the process of introducing and deepening the choice of interests that students will take in their academic journey. Through this activity, students are given a clearer picture of the various specializations available, so they can determine the direction of study that suits their interests, potential, and future career goals. This activity presented speakers who are alumni and practitioners in the hospitality and tourism industry who shared their professional experiences, industry insights, and career journeys after studying in these fields. In an interactive talk show session, the speakers explained in depth the various available specializations, namely Executive accommodation management, Leisure and Event Management, and Culinary Arts and innovations . Participants were also given the opportunity to engage in direct discussions, ask questions, and gain practical insights into the challenges and career opportunities in each field. The seminar aimed to help students understand the characteristics of each specialization, the scope of work in the industry, and the competencies that need to be prepared early on. With direct presentations from practitioners and alumni, students were expected to gain a real picture of the dynamics of the working world in the ever-evolving hospitality and tourism industry. The seminar ” Future Compass: Exploring Your Academic Direction” was held with great enthusiasm from the participants. Through this activity, Bunda Mulia University hopes that second-semester students can be more confident in determining their academic interests and optimally prepare themselves to become competent and competitive professionals in the global tourism industry.
