On Tuesday, April 29 2025, the Hospitality and Tourism study program of Bunda Mulia University, Serpong campus, held a guest lecture with the theme “Front Office Revenue Management” which was conducted at Room 501, the 5th floor of Alfa Tower. This guest lecture started at 11.30 am to 1.10 pm WIB which was attended by the 4th semester students of the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program of the Serpong campus specifically majoring in Executive Accommodation Management with a total of 17 students.
This guest lecture was organized by the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program of the Serpong campus by inviting Mrs. Karina Troy Kwandy, as Director of Revenue Management from Mandarin Oriental Jakarta.
The guest lecture activity was opened with a welcome greeting by Yenly Wijaya as the MC, which was then continued with a welcoming speech by Mrs. Roozana Maria Ritonga, B.B.A., PGD, M.Par., as a Hospitality and Tourism lecturer at Bunda Mulia University, Serpong campus.
After the welcoming speech was given, the next session was a short introduction session regarding the education profile and work experience of Mrs. Karina Troy Kwandy. All students were very enthusiastic in paying attention to the materials and knowledge shared based on her experience working at one of the famous five-star hotels in Jakarta, namely the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Jakarta.
Mrs. Karina Troy was sharing new insights about Hotel Revenue Management that are quite unfamiliar by the majority of students but it was mentioned that this major could be a promising career opportunity for the Executive Accommodation Management major. In addition, Mrs. Karina’s presentation was a feast and she delivered it in an interactive way which created an engaging learning environment. She also shared short notes regarding hotel revenue that she compiled by herself to the students which could be a guideline and useful knowledge in the future.
After the presentation session had ended, the students were excited to ask questions about sales strategies, pricing, and also target markets especially during the low season. Mrs. Karina Troy also gave some suggestions and input on how to keep hotel sales running well every day by setting competitive prices and strategies to get the right market.
The next session was the handing over of the ‘Token of Appreciation’ and closed by taking a group photo with the speakers, Mrs. Roozana Maria Ritonga BBA., M.Par. and Mr. Rendy Sarudin, S.Tr.Par., M.Par.
By conducting a guest lecture with the theme “Front Office Revenue Management”, it was expected to provide learning and experience related to good revenue management in the hotel industry. In this case, revenue management does not only focus on sales and income but also analyzes, forecasts and decides the right strategy to actualize satisfying sales results.
