PRESS RELEASE Strengthening Students’ Research Capabilities, UBM Ancol Management Study Program Holds Quantitative Data Processing Application Training Workshop
In order to improve students’ competency in conducting quantitative data analysis, the Management Study Program at Bunda Mulia University, Ancol Campus, held a series of data processing workshops discussing the use of various popular statistical software, namely SmartPLS, SPSS, and E-Views. This activity was designed to provide conceptual understanding as well as practical skills in processing and analyzing research data systematically and accurately. This activity was specifically intended for students of the Management Study Program at UBM Ancol Campus who were taking the Thesis course in the Even Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The workshop was held in three separate sessions featuring experienced speakers in the fields of research methodology and data analysis. Each session began with an introduction to the basic concepts of data analysis, followed by a presentation of material on software usage, and practical data processing exercises so that participants could immediately apply the knowledge gained.
The first session was held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 1:00 PM–4:00 PM WIB with the topic SmartPLS . In this session, participants gained an understanding of the basic concepts of Partial Least Square (PLS) as well as data processing practices using SmartPLS software. The material was delivered by Dr. Siti Yasmina Zubaedah, BSIE., MSIE , who guided participants from an introduction to the application to research data analysis exercises.
The second session, held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM WIB , focused on the use of SPSS in statistical data analysis. In this session, participants learned the basics of data processing using SPSS and conducted research data analysis exercises. This activity was guided by Dr. Michael Christian, SE., MM , who explained the stages of data analysis in a practical and applicable manner.
The third session was held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 6:00 PM–9:00 PM WIB, with E-Views material widely used in econometric analysis and research based on time series and panel data. This session was presented by Alexander Robert, BA., MSc , who provided an explanation of the basic concepts of using E-Views as well as data processing exercises to strengthen participants’ understanding. Through this series of workshops, it is hoped that participants will not only understand the concept of data analysis theoretically, but also have practical skills in using various statistical software to support academic and professional research. This activity is one of the institution’s efforts to encourage improved research quality and strengthen students’ analytical capacity in the data-driven era.
