The Management Study Program of Bunda Mulia University, Ancol Campus, successfully held a public lecture on the Business Communication and Negotiation course with the theme “Closing The Deal: A Case Study Of The Coal Logistics Industry” which was held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at the Premiere Classroom, 2nd Floor, at 17.30 – 19.10 WIB presenting a presentation of material delivered by Jubilant Arda Harmidy as Chief Executive Officer of TLI Investment as a resource person.

The event began with a presentation on how to reach a decision through negotiation. Mr. Jubilant explained that reaching a decision requires overcoming egos and understanding each individual’s perspective, leading to a negotiation process that aims to resolve the issue. Building trust is also crucial, as trust can lead to effective negotiation.

A fifth-semester Management student majoring in Creative Marketing asked how to make a compelling proposal to his superiors at the company where he works, ensuring their interest and acceptance, having previously been repeatedly rejected. Mr. Jubilant replied that arguments must be strengthened by utilizing available data, as without it, it would be difficult to prove the results. If the data is concrete and demonstrates that the proposal will benefit the company, there is a greater chance of acceptance.

Mr. Jubilant stated that we must be able to understand human character and know how to overcome problems from the arguments he will present. Because understanding the character of students will certainly make it easier for us to be able to carry out a negotiation system that aims not only to receive benefits but also to ensure that the needs of both parties are met. Furthermore, the public lecture closed with the presentation of a Token of Appreciation to Mr. Jubilant Arda Harmody, handed over by Mrs. Dr. Siti Yasmina Zubaedah, BSIE., MSIE.
