On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, a Community Service (PKM) activity was held at SMK Tarsisius Vireta, Tangerang. The event was facilitated by lecturers Ms. Feronika Berutu, S.ST., M.Par., Ms. Roozana Maria Ritonga, BBA., M.Par., and Ms. Sofiani, S.Tr.Par., M.Par., along with student assistants Verlyn, Graciella, Felix, Yenly, and Osvaldo.
The event was attended by more than 64 enthusiastic students from SMK Tarsisius Vireta. The session began with a presentation on Hospitality and Tourism Perspectives by Ms. Roozana Maria Ritonga, BBA., M.Par., followed by a session on Sapta Pesona (Seven Charms of Indonesian Tourism) delivered by Ms. Sofiani, S.Tr.Par., M.Par., and a Grooming session led by Ms. Feronika Berutu, S.ST., M.Par.
The program continued with a hands-on practice session, where students observed and participated in a Mixing Drink demo by Felix, who presented a signature local beverage called Javana Tamarind Drink, a refreshing blend of soda and tamarind. This was followed by an Appetizer Demo by Yenly, showcasing a traditional Indonesian dish Popiah Medan, filled with fresh vegetables and egg.
The activity ran smoothly, with enthusiastic student participation throughout all sessions. It is hoped that through this Community Service initiative, knowledge and awareness of the Hospitality and Tourism industry will continue to grow among the broader community and inspire more young people to pursue careers in tourism.
