The Film Production class of 2020 at DKV UBM attended a masterclass on film production in the era of change, which was part of the Australia Indonesia Cinema Festival (FSAI) at GoWork Plaza Indonesia on Thursday, March 2, 2023. The students learned about the latest technologies in the filmmaking process. The event was hosted by Indonesian journalist and actress Marissa Anita and featured Associate Professor Victoria Duckett from Deakin University Melbourne as a speaker. The masterclass taught that due to the pandemic, Australia has experienced national trauma, and the filmmaking crew has become smaller while the use of technology has become more advanced and easier for the overall filmmaking process.
However, Australia and Indonesia have witnessed the development of the post-pandemic film industry, where in this recovery period, the film industry is growing, and the film crew is increasingly sought after and needed to work with existing technologies to create better works for audiences. With the latest technology, the process of making films is expected to become more accessible for the creative industry of today. The event ended with a Q&A session and friendly discussions to promote cultural and artistic bilateral relations between Australia and Indonesia.
