Film Production Class and DKV UBM Thesis Visit Bekantan Pictures
The Film Production class and DKV UBM Thesis visited Bekantan Pictures as part of their industry visit. Bekantan Pictures is a production house founded by Jose Prabowo, an academician in film studies. Recently, Bekantan Pictures’ short film titled “Jemari yang Menari di Atas Luka Luka” or “Golden Frames in the Closet” won the Best Short Film category at FFI 2022.
The industry visit to Bekantan Pictures took place on Friday, March 10, 2023. DKV UBM students specializing in graphic design, film, and animation participated in the event in three different batches to experience an immersive industry visit.
The discussion between Jose Prabowo and the students revolved around the film industry, production houses, and what happens after graduation when entering the creative industry. Graduates need to be prepared to work with the skills they learned and apply their creativity according to industry needs.
The industry visit ended with a group photo with Jose Prabowo, the Bekantan from Bekantan Pictures, and several awards and achievements from the company. It is hoped that in the future, DKV UBM can collaborate with Bekantan Pictures again and organize similar visits.
