Jakarta, June 15, 2026 — Students of the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program at Bunda Mulia Ancol University have achieved a proud achievement in the Thailand Ultimate Chef Challenge 2026 event held in Bangkok, Thailand, from May 26 to 30, 2026.

In this international culinary competition, two Bunda Mulia University students, Styven Edricsen and Marvel Mutalim, successfully brought home a total of five medals, consisting of one silver medal and four bronze medals. This achievement proves that UBM students are capable of competing and demonstrating their quality at the international level.
Styven Edricsen won bronze medals in the Main Course Beef Challenge (Junior Chefs) and Main Course Duck (Junior Chefs). Meanwhile, Marvel Mutalim won silver medals in the Asian Curry Challenge (Junior Chefs), as well as bronze medals in the Pasta Challenge (Junior Chefs) and Main Course Salmon Challenge (Junior Chefs).

Students’ participation in this event is part of developing competencies in the field of culinary arts, especially in creating international cuisine, developing dish concepts, cooking techniques, production timeliness, and implementing international culinary competition standards.
Prior to the competition, participants underwent training sessions that included developing dish concepts, refining cooking techniques, and adjusting production times in the onsite Lab Kitchen. This preparation process was carried out under the guidance of supervising lecturers and culinary practitioners to ensure students were prepared for the professional competition atmosphere.

This achievement demonstrates that the students possess the ability, creativity, discipline, and strong competitive spirit to compete in the global culinary world,” said a representative of the Hospitality and Tourism students of Bunda Mulia University.

The Thailand Ultimate Chef Challenge 2026 attracted participants from various countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia. Through this competition, students not only gained experience competing at the international level but also broadened their knowledge of global culinary standards and professionalism in the hospitality industry.
