On October 13, 2022, a General Lecture was held with the title “ Personal Hygiene and Grooming” for semesters 1 and 3. This general lecture discusses the Front office is one of the departments that is directly related to hotel guests. Employees who work in the front office must have a clean, neat, and good looking appearance in accordance with front office grooming standards. The existence of front office grooming standards is important because the front office field is known as “The first and the last impression of the guest” which means that the front office department will be the first and last impression of the hotel guest. Employees who look neat, clean and fragrant will result in a good image of the hotel, and vice versa if the employees look not in accordance with the front office grooming standards will make the image of the hotel occupied.
The general lecture , which was conducted from 09.30 to 11:30, was presented by Mr. Taufan Utama Putra as the Front Office Manager of The Hermitage A Tribute Portfolio Hotel by Marriott who is quite experienced in his field. This event ended with the awarding of certificates to the speakers.
