Tangerang. As a form of implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education, especially in the field of community service, the Informatics Study Program of the Faculty of Technology and Design, Bunda Mulia University (UBM) Serpong has carried out an activity entitled “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence Using Teachable Machine”. This activity is aimed at Ehipassiko High School students with the aim of increasing technological literacy, especially in understanding the basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning which are currently developing rapidly in various sectors of life. In addition, this activity also aims to introduce that AI can be learned simply and applied without having to have complex programming skills.
The activity was divided into two main sessions: material delivery and hands-on practice. In the first session, students were given a basic understanding of AI, how machine learning works, and examples of its application in everyday life. Next, in the practice session, students used the Teachable Machine platform to interactively create simple image- or sound-based classification models. Through this activity, students not only gained theoretical understanding but also gained hands-on experience in building simple AI models. The participants’ enthusiasm was evident in their active participation in the practice and discussions throughout the activity.
The UBM Informatics Study Program hopes this activity will make a tangible contribution to improving technological literacy among students and fostering interest in Artificial Intelligence. Going forward, similar activities are expected to be expanded to reach more educational institutions as an effort to prepare the younger generation for the era of digital transformation.
