The activity took place onsite at The UBM Seminar Room (TUSR) and featured Tirza Agata, Complex Director of Learning & Organizational Development at Pan Pacific, PARKROYAL Hotel, and PARKROYAL Serviced Suites Jakarta, as the speaker.
This activity was organized by committees from the Excellent Community of Management (XCM), HIMA Hospitality and Tourism (Hospar), Executive of Digital Business (EXODUS), and HIMA Accasia of Universitas Bunda Mulia. The training targeted students from the Management, Digital Business, Accounting, and Hospitality and Tourism study programs.
This training was based on the need for students to develop strong emotional intelligence in academic life, organizational activities, and preparation for entering the professional world. Students are not only expected to master academic skills. They also need to understand how to recognize, manage, and express emotions positively in various situations.
Through this activity, participants gained an understanding of the importance of emotional intelligence in building healthy communication, teamwork, empathy, leadership, decision-making, and adaptability. The training material also emphasized the importance of emotional management as a foundation for developing confident, empathetic, adaptive, and professional individuals.
The series of activities began with an opening by the MC, remarks from the advisor of the Excellent Community of Management, an introduction of the speaker, material presentation, question and answer session, symbolic certificate presentation, documentation, and closing. Throughout the session, participants actively followed the material and engaged in discussions with the speaker.

The evaluation results showed that the activity received a very positive response from participants. Based on a questionnaire completed by 86 respondents, the overall average participant assessment reached 3.91 out of 4, equivalent to 97.6% of the maximum score. The aspect of material benefits for participants received the highest score, at 3.93 out of 4 or 98.3%.
In the instructor and speaker aspect, participants gave high ratings for the speaker’s mastery of the material and ability to answer questions. Both aspects received a score of 3.92 out of 4 or 98.0%. These results indicate that the speaker was able to deliver the material clearly, relevantly, and in accordance with participants’ needs.
Participants also provided several suggestions for future activity development. Some participants hoped that the training duration could be extended, more practice sessions could be added, and the activity could be made more interactive. Participants also proposed follow-up topics such as internship preparation, self-improvement, leadership, public speaking, business digitalization, stock investment, and stoicism.
Overall, the Soft Skills Training program “Emotional Intelligence as a Key in Personal and Professional Growth” successfully achieved its objectives. This activity served as a space for student self-development as well as a means of collaboration among student associations within Universitas Bunda Mulia.
Through this activity, Universitas Bunda Mulia continues to encourage students to develop non-academic competencies that are relevant to the needs of the workforce. Strengthening emotional intelligence is one of the important steps in preparing graduates who are competent, adaptive, and ready to face professional challenges.
