Tangerang, April 25, 2026 — The Information Systems Study Program at Bunda Mulia University, Serpong Campus, held a public lecture on the theme “Leveraging Open-Source Technologies for E-Business in Hospitality Services” . This activity was held on Saturday, April 25, 2026. This public lecture presented an international speaker, Dr. Blasius Lofi Dewanto from the Java Competence Center, DEVK Insurance, Cologne, Germany . Through this activity, students gained insight into the application of E-Business concepts in the hospitality industry, especially regarding the use of open source technology in supporting the development of digital business systems.
In their presentations, the speakers explained that open source technology plays a crucial role in developing flexible, efficient, and adaptable digital solutions tailored to business needs. In the hospitality industry, the application of this technology can support various business processes such as online service bookings, customer management, system integration, and improving the user experience. This activity also provided a platform for students to understand the connection between the theory learned in E-Business courses and real-world practices in the industrial world. By presenting international practitioners, students gained a broader perspective on the challenges and opportunities of utilizing technology in building digital-based business services.

In addition to the material delivery session, this activity also included a question and answer session that gave students the opportunity to discuss directly with the resource person. The enthusiasm of the participants was evident in their active involvement throughout the activity. Based on feedback, this public lecture activity received a positive response from participants with a score of 3.80 out of 4.00 . The material presented was deemed relevant and able to broaden students’ insight regarding the application of open source technology in e-business development.
Through this activity, the Information Systems Study Program of Bunda Mulia University, Serpong Campus hopes that students will increasingly understand the importance of mastering digital technology and be able to develop competencies that are relevant to industry needs, especially in the fields of E-Business and technology-based services.
