Jakarta, October 6, 2026 – Through the “Warung Naik Kelas” program, UBM and Aksesmu not only support the renovation of small shops but also equip shop owners with the knowledge to manage their businesses more effectively. As part of the program, a financial management training session was held in a hybrid format on Tuesday (October 6, 2026), with seven warung representatives attending in person at Alfa Tower in Tangerang, while other participants joined the event online. The program reaches warungs in various regions across Indonesia, including Lombok and Gorontalo. Now that most of the renovation work is complete, the program has moved on to the capacity-building phase through educational initiatives designed to strengthen shop owners’ business management skills.
The event was attended by Mr. Dendy Wibowo, S.S., M.M., a practicing lecturer at Bunda Mulia University (UBM), who presented on financial management; Ms. Siti Yasmina Zubaedah, BSIE, MSIE, as the moderator, and two female students from Bunda Mulia University, Livia Evangelina Florencia (12230242) and Sierryn Christabelle Panca (12240172). The material covered the importance of distinguishing between needs and wants, recording income and expenses, and managing inventory to ensure more focused business management. This material is relevant to the challenges often faced by small shop owners, such as high sales volume that does not always translate into optimal profits due to disorganized financial record keeping and inventory management.

The training continued with an interactive Q&A session that gave shop owners the opportunity to discuss firsthand the business management challenges they face on a daily basis. By interacting directly with industry practitioners, participants were able to gain a deeper understanding of the material and apply it to real life situations in their own shops. The series of activities concluded with a group photo session to document the event and foster a sense of camaraderie among the participants and those involved in the program.
Through the “Warung Naik Kelas” program, the training provided is expected not only to help improve the physical condition of the small shops but also to strengthen the owners knowledge and skills in running their businesses. Ongoing mentoring is a crucial component in supporting these small shops so they can be managed more independently, systematically, and sustainably.
