The younger generation is now facing various financial opportunities as well as challenges that must be approached wisely. To help students and young people gain solid financial knowledge, the Management Study Program of Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) Ancol collaborated with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Seoul and IPB University to organize a seminar entitled “Smart Investing and Succeeding in the Franchise Business!” on Sunday, May 11, 2025. This seminar was part of UBM’s International Community Service activities, held in a hybrid format, taking place from 07.30 to 13.00 WIB via Zoom and live at the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul.

This seminar featured experienced experts in the fields of investment and franchise business, including Zelda Wulan Kartika (Chargé d’Affaires Ad-Interim of the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul), Prof. Dr. Ir. Hartoyo, M.Sc. (Lecturer at the School of Business, IPB University), Fazri Zaelani (Investment Professional), Tri Raharjo (Founder of INFOBRAND.ID Media), and Rudianto S. Binantoro (Owner of Arfa Barbershop UGM). Also present directly at the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul as the main moderator was UBM lecturer Glisina Dwinoor Rembulan, who led the interactive discussion with the speakers. Meanwhile, UBM students Lavina Christy and Ferry Krisna participated online via Zoom along with approximately 110 other enthusiastic participants who attentively followed the material presented.

In this seminar, participants gained in-depth insights on the importance of early investing, understanding the differences between investment instruments such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and strategies for choosing promising franchise businesses. The speakers also shared practical tips for managing investments safely and effectively, avoiding fraudulent schemes, and applying diversification in financial portfolios. The material was delivered interactively and included a question-and-answer session that sparked the participants’ interest in further exploring the topics of investment and franchising.
This activity aimed to improve financial literacy among the younger generation, provide insights into franchise business opportunities, and encourage participants to be more aware in planning for a financially stable future. The seminar concluded with an enthusiastic reflection session, where participants expressed hope for similar activities to continue in order to strengthen practical knowledge in finance and entrepreneurship. The event ended with a call to start applying smart investment principles and to boldly take the first steps in building a sustainable franchise business.
