Jakarta, March 11, 2026 – In facing the dynamic and uncertain digital era (VUCA), digital transformation has become a strategic necessity for organizations to increase competitiveness and operational effectiveness. Digital transformation is not only related to technology adoption, but also changes in work culture, decision-making patterns, and the integration of systems and human resources. In order to support this increase in insight, the Digital Business Study Program of Bunda Mulia University in collaboration with EXODUS held a Community Service (ABDIMAS) activity at PT. Bina Karya Prima which was attended by 48 employees from February 11, 2026 to March 11, 2026. Carrying the theme “Digital Transformation In Organizations: Internal Barriers And Adaptation Efforts”, this program aims to overcome internal organizational challenges and raise awareness of the role of human resources in supporting digital transformation. The series of events is divided into three main, complementary topics.
In the “Understanding Digital Transformation and Internal Organizational Challenges” session, material was delivered interactively with case studies that discussed various internal organizational barriers, such as top-down decision-making patterns, organizational silos, the use of legacy technology, and a short-termist mindset focused on short-term gains. Participants were encouraged to understand the importance of system integration, cross-divisional collaboration, and the application of data-driven decision-making in supporting the digital transformation process.
Complementing the material, the session “Building Data-Driven Culture and Operational Agility” discussed the importance of developing a data-driven work culture, such as maintaining data integrity through the implementation of a single source of truth, understanding the difference between digitization and digitalization, increasing real-time data visibility, and understanding the interconnectedness of business processes through an end-to-end value chain approach. Participants were invited to understand how data can be used as a basis for decision-making and support coordination between functions within the organization. Based on the entire series of activities, it can be concluded that the implementation of the activities went well and smoothly. This activity provided benefits for participants in increasing their understanding of the importance of utilizing data to support operational effectiveness and faster and more accurate decision-making within the organization.
Supporting the formation of transformation strategies, the session “Adaptation and Innovation Strategies to Support Digital Transformation” emphasized that digital transformation is not a short-term project with a clear endpoint, but rather an ongoing process that requires strategic adaptation. The presentation covered crucial strategies such as cross-functional collaboration to break down organizational silos, openness to new ideas and solutions to overcome the “Not Invented Here” mindset, and managing resistance to innovation through transparent change management and employee engagement. Furthermore, participants were encouraged to understand the importance of gradual and sustainable technology utilization as an effective solution to modernize legacy technology without the risk of drastic failure.
The enthusiasm of the participants in this activity was clearly seen through the case study and interactive Q&A sessions, where participants analyzed more deeply to carry out good transformations in their organizations. Based on the final evaluation, this activity ran successfully and smoothly with an average participant rating of 3.44. Through this collaboration, Bunda Mulia University hopes to provide real benefits in strengthening innovative mindsets as a foundation for viewing digital change not as a threat, but as a strategic opportunity to create added value for the organization.
