Tangerang, November 3, 2025 — Students of Bunda Mulia University (UBM) conducted a Community Service (PKM) activity with the theme “Cyber Security for the Community: Education and Phishing Mitigation Strategies to Prevent Personal Data Leaks” at Dharma Putra High School, Tangerang. This activity took place from September 30 to November 3, 2025, as part of the Network and Information Security course.
This program is aimed at high school students to raise awareness about the dangers of phishing and the increasing risk of personal data breaches in the digital age. The lack of public awareness, particularly among students, is a critical concern, and therefore, basic education on cybersecurity practices needs to be provided from school age.
The PKM activities were conducted through interactive presentations using slides , complemented by discussion sessions, Q&A sessions , and short evaluations led by students. Throughout the activities, lecturers from various study programs, including Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Design and Visual Communication, and Informatics, were present to provide guidance and ensure the activities were effective and aligned with learning objectives.
The presentation lasted approximately 45 minutes and was delivered via PowerPoint presentation designed to facilitate students’ understanding of the various forms of phishing, the impact of data breaches, and preventative measures that can be implemented in everyday digital activities. Following the presentation, the session continued with an active discussion and question-and-answer session.
In total, four educational sessions were held with a total of 121 participants , mostly from grade 12. The participants’ enthusiasm was evident in the questionnaire results, which showed the majority choosing the “Agree” and “Strongly Agree” categories regarding the benefits of the activities. Through these activities, UBM students are expected to be able to apply the knowledge gained in lectures while making a real contribution to society by increasing cybersecurity literacy and awareness of phishing threats.
