On Wednesday, December 8, 2021, a Community Service activity was held at SMAK IPEKA Grand Wisata, Bekasi with the theme “Communication Skill for Self Branding” on the third day of the online After Exam event.
The activity began with remarks from the Activity Facilitator, Mr. Libertus Alvares and was handed over to the moderator, namely Mrs. Evi Marpaung, as a BK teacher. After the hospitality, the material presentation activity by Stephanie Rosanto, BBus., MBA was started. as a lecturer in the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program at Bunda Mulia University, Serpong Campus. This activity is a mixture of talk-show and role-play so that throughout this activity the speakers are assisted by 2 (two) representatives from students.
The material begins with The Power of Communication and continues with discussing Communication Skills, which focuses on Wordless Communication. Followed by opening a role play session where every time one scene/condition is finished, the speaker gives an evaluation and comments on the role play that has been done. At the end of the event, the speaker explained the importance of two-way communication, namely the principles of The Golden Rule and the motto of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C.
This Community Service activity was carried out well and smoothly because it had relevance to the needs of the students of SMAK IPEKA Grand Wisata. Based on the results of the meeting before the implementation, participants were not maximal in understanding the importance of communicating well. In order for the purpose of the service to be effective, this activity uses a classical (material) and individual (role play) approach as well as answers to questions from the participants.
