PKM activities from the accounting study program were carried out on Thursday 15 May 2025 organized by Mahir Akuntansi at Numeric Galery, Baywalk Mall, Penjaringan Pluit, North Jakarta. The participants who took part in the activity came from SMK YMIK, West Jakarta with around 30 students. At the meeting, the participants were given material exposure and business simulations. The activity began with accounting lecturers, namely Mr. Dr. Temy Setiawan, SE, Ak, M.Ak, CA, CIBA, CPMA, Mrs. Ernie Riswandari, Mrs. Theresia Hesti Bwarleling, S.E., M.Ak discussing material about corporate accounting information systems, financial accounting and tax aspects in the retail business. After the material was completed, the activity continued by giving participants the opportunity to do simulations. These simulations include various activities that reflect real situations in the professional world in the retail business, such as: Activities in the warehouse, activities carried out in the sales department, cashiers and activities carried out in the Accounting and Finance department.
Simulation-based learning can help students learn about financial practices in the real world. It helps them become active learners who use deep learning strategies. The result is that students become more satisfied with their learning experience. Because they do a simulation where they practice doing all the activities that have to be done, the knowledge they gain from the activity becomes easier to remember. This is because students are practicing parts of the activity, which they will encounter in the workplace.
