Jakarta, December 9, 2025 – In an era of globalization marked by rapid developments in science and technology, universities are required to continuously adapt to create an academic ecosystem that is not only superior but also able to compete internationally. Facing this challenge, lecturers play a crucial strategic role in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in producing relevant and innovative research.

For this reason, the Management Study Program of Bunda Mulia University (UBM), headed by Mrs. Tannia SE, MM, held a lecturer workshop with the theme Empowering Academic Excellence through Research Impact and Innovation . The activity, which took place on December 9, 2025, aimed to strengthen the capacity of lecturers in facing these challenges, while strengthening the role of research and innovation in the world of higher education. This workshop invited one of the leading experts in the field of management and research, namely Prof. Dr. Adi Zakaria Afiff, SE, MBA, who shared insights on the importance of research and scientific publications in increasing academic competitiveness. In his material, Prof. Adi Zakaria emphasized the need for cross-disciplinary collaboration, as well as the use of research results to create applicable innovations and have a positive impact on society and industry. Not to forget, this workshop event was also moderated by Mrs. Sophia Reni Susilo, SE, MM as the Secretary of the Management Study Program of Bunda Mulia University.

The participants’ enthusiasm was palpable during the question-and-answer session, with many lecturers actively asking questions and sharing their thoughts on implementing research and innovation in their academic practices. This lively discussion demonstrated the importance of workshops like this for building a productive and relevant research culture in education.

“This workshop was very useful for broadening our insights in terms of research and innovation. In addition to increasing our understanding of the latest research trends, this event also provided an overview of how we can increase international publications and produce research that is applicable to society,” said one of the participants who attended the event. This activity is also expected to be a starting point for strengthening collaboration between lecturers, both in research and in generating innovative ideas that can enrich the world of education and teaching.

Through this workshop, it is hoped that lecturers at Bunda Mulia University will be better prepared to face global demands in higher education, and contribute more to the development of beneficial research and innovation. In this context, the workshop not only successfully enhanced the capacity of individual lecturers but also served as a catalyst for the institution’s transformation into a leading and internationally competitive research university.
