The Faculty of Technology and Design (FTD) at Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM), Serpong Campus, will host an online webinar entitled “Beyond Coding: How Tech Talent Builds Products, Teams, and Business Impact” on 17 July 2026. The event reflects FTD’s ongoing commitment to providing learning opportunities that align with the rapid evolution of the technology industry while broadening students’ understanding of the competencies required to thrive in today’s digital era.
The rapid advancement of technology has significantly transformed the role of technology professionals. Today, technical expertise alone is no longer sufficient. Modern tech talent is expected to possess not only strong programming skills but also the ability to understand user needs, develop innovative digital products, collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, and contribute to sustainable business growth. Therefore, it is essential for students to cultivate a broader set of competencies that meet the evolving demands of the global technology landscape.
To bridge the gap between academia and industry, the webinar will feature Mr. Raffi Verrel Alessandro, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Systeric, as the keynote speaker. Drawing from his extensive experience in building and leading a technology company, Mr. Alessandro will share valuable insights into how technology professionals can grow beyond technical excellence to become strategic contributors who create meaningful value through product development, leadership, and business innovation.
During the session, participants will gain practical knowledge about the competencies most sought after in today’s digital industry, including cross-functional collaboration, effective communication with diverse stakeholders, data-informed decision-making, and product-oriented thinking. Through real-world experiences and industry case studies, attendees will be encouraged to develop a broader perspective on preparing for successful careers in technology.
The webinar will be moderated by Dr. Hery Heryanto, S.Kom., M.Kom., Academic Manager 1A of Universitas Bunda Mulia, who will facilitate an engaging and interactive discussion throughout the event. Participants will also have the opportunity to join a live question-and-answer session, enabling them to explore current industry trends, career opportunities, and the challenges faced by technology professionals in today’s competitive landscape.
Through this webinar, the Faculty of Technology and Design continues to strengthen collaboration between higher education and industry. Such initiatives provide students with valuable exposure to real-world practices while demonstrating how academic knowledge can be applied to address practical challenges. This collaboration also supports the University’s mission of producing graduates who are adaptive, innovative, and well-prepared to compete in both national and international professional environments.
The webinar is expected not only to enrich participants’ knowledge but also to inspire students to develop the mindset of problem solvers, product thinkers, and future technology leaders. By recognizing that the success of technology professionals extends beyond writing code to creating impactful solutions, fostering collaboration, and driving business value, participants will be better equipped to navigate the continuously evolving digital ecosystem.
Through initiatives such as this, the Faculty of Technology and Design at Universitas Bunda Mulia reaffirms its commitment to delivering industry-relevant education by engaging experienced practitioners in academic activities. It is expected that “Beyond Coding: How Tech Talent Builds Products, Teams, and Business Impact” will provide meaningful insights for students, academics, and the broader community, empowering them to become innovative digital talents capable of making significant contributions to the advancement of Indonesia’s technology industry.
