The Management Study Program of Bunda Mulia University (UBM) Ancol Campus held an industrial visit with the theme “FMCG Excellence through Production Management and Quality Systems at PT. Kao Indonesia” to provide students with hands-on experience in understanding the dynamics of the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry. This visit is part of UBM’s commitment to bridge the theory learned in college with practice in the field, in line with the university’s vision of “Bridging Education to the Real World”. This activity was carried out at the production facility of PT. Kao Indonesia, located in the Karawang International Industrial City (KIIC) area, West Java, on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

In this activity, participants consisting of 110 students and accompanied by Dr. Siti Yasmina Zubaedah, BSIE., MSIE. as a supervising lecturer, gained an in-depth understanding of production process management and the quality management system implemented at PT. Kao Indonesia. This visit provided practical insights into how a leading FMCG company manages large-volume production while maintaining high quality standards. In addition, students were also able to exchange ideas with industry professionals who play a role in ensuring smooth operations and production efficiency. This activity also included a question and answer session that provided an opportunity for students to dig deeper into various managerial aspects applied in the FMCG industry.

The series of events began with remarks from PT. Kao Indonesia and Mrs. Dr. Siti Yasmina Zubaedah, BSIE., MSIE, followed by a presentation by a resource person from PT. Kao Indonesia regarding production management and quality control. In addition to the material session, participants were also invited to take part in a company tour, which allowed them to directly see the production process that takes place at PT. Kao Indonesia. Through this tour, students were able to observe firsthand how this company manages each stage of production with high efficiency and maintains consistent product quality. This activity is expected to not only enrich students’ knowledge, but also open up opportunities for them to pursue a career in the ever-growing FMCG industry. We would like to express our gratitude to PT. Kao Indonesia for their support in opening this opportunity, as well as to all parties who have contributed to the smooth running of this event.
