Tangerang, November 21, 2025 – UKM Talent (MCU) Bunda Mulia University, Serpong Campus successfully held a Hybrid National Seminar entitled “Speak, Create, Influence” at The UBM Lecture Hall, 5th Floor, Alfa Tower, from 11:00 AM to 1:50 PM WIB. This activity presented Olivia Tan, a Master of Ceremony, Runner-Up 2 Miss Charm International, and content creator with more than 600K followers on TikTok and 259K followers on Instagram, as the main speaker. This event was attended by 162 onsite participants and 68 online participants. This activity was opened and guided by Marlon Surya Loandy and Callista Albertha Gunawan as MCs, then continued with singing Indonesia Raya and the Bunda Mulia University Mars, reading of the rules of procedure, and remarks from Mr. Nicodemus Koli, S.Fil., MIKom. as the mentor of UKM Talent (MCU) and Chelsea Ariella Suhardjo as the Chairperson of the Event. One of the most energizing moments came when Valentinus Anthony Simanjaya and Irene Aurelia, the MCs for the games, invited participants to play “One Word Impact.” The MCs provided a keyword, and then the microphone was moved in turns. The participant holding the microphone when the call was made “stop” had to spontaneously create a quote of the day. The result created a lively atmosphere.

Participants who successfully provided quotes received prizes from the committee. After a brief icebreaker, the event became even more lively with a musical performance from UKM VOU, who performed the songs Satu Mimpiku and Panah Asmara. The seminar session began, moderated by Josevin Cindy, and Olivia Tan as the resource person, known as a multitalented figure who speaks five languages at once, an overthinker who actually turns her vulnerability into a strength in her work and content. In her presentation, Olivia Tan emphasized that public speaking is not only about body gestures, but also the art of managing rhythm. “It’s not all about the body language, but also, the pause moment. There is the Power of Silence. Sometimes we speak too fast until we lose the tempo and drama,” said Olivia Tan.

She also touched on how someone can remain true to themselves despite living within various social standards. According to her, authenticity doesn’t mean presenting yourself 100% as you are, because in society we still need to adapt to our surroundings. Authenticity is seen in the way we present discussions that stem from personal experiences. Olivia Tan shared her inspiring life journey. On her journey to success, burnout was almost inevitable due to the demands and developments she faced. Responding to this, Olivia Tan emphasized the importance of giving oneself a break, as every process has its own rhythm. “The flower doesn’t force itself to bloom in the winter, but it will definitely bloom in the summer.” – Olivia Tan. Next, there was a question and answer session that provided an opportunity for participants to explore experiences and strategies for facing real-world challenges. One question came from Valerin, who asked how we can avoid feeling inferior. Olivia Tan answered, “Make that person a role model. Look for blind spots (gaps) in areas they haven’t mastered, then fill them with our own abilities.” The most important thing is to share that expertise in a way that remains true to ourselves (authenticity).

The seminar series concluded with the presentation of Tokens of Appreciation (ToA) to the speakers and a joint documentation session. With the presence of an inspiring figure like Olivia Tan, the National Hybrid UKM Talent (MCU) Seminar hopes that more students will be brave enough to speak up, create, and make an impact. Ultimately, as Olivia Tan says, “Ordinary people can become extraordinary if they believe in themselves.”
