Tangerang, March 4, 2023 – The Master of Ceremony of UBM Serpong campus has successfully held a hybrid seminar with the theme “Dare to Speak, Dare to Improve Your Public Speaking” on Saturday, March 4, 2023, with 60 onsite participants at The UBM Lecture Hall and approximately 70 virtual participants through Zoom Meeting.
This seminar was open to Bunda Mulia University students as well as external parties online and offline, guided by Nova Liana and Riryn Tabita Novilia as Master of Ceremony. The seminar opened with a live performance by the UKM Dance (Biefindc).
The topic raised at this seminar is to learn the basics of public speaking. Therefore, MCU invited Coach Willy Tan, CPS as the speaker who shared his knowledge with the participants attending the seminar.
Coach Willy Tan explained the basics of public speaking. Of course, there is an individual understanding of the participants, so the speaker asked questions to the participants and answered according to their understanding. All theories or knowledge have benefits, so the speaker explained the benefits of public speaking. Participants were given tips to start public speaking correctly. Coach Willy gave tips on avoiding boredom in public speaking, including facial expressions, eye contact, body language, interaction with the audience, and eliminating filler words. Coach Willy also demonstrated in front of the participants and invited participants to follow his tips at that time. Before ending the material session, Coach Willy delivered a message, “Life keeps going, we determine our future.”
At the end of the event, there was a Token of Appreciation session for the speaker by the Student Affairs representative and a plaque presentation by Marselina Vinky as Vice Chair of the Kampus Serpong Master of Ceremony Community as a form of gratitude for sharing knowledge with the seminar participants. The seminar closed with a performance by one of the student activity units at Bunda Mulia University, The Vou, and a game session by the seminar committee.
