Tangerang, November 29, 2025 – Biems Theater Universitas Bunda Mulia Serpong Campus officially held its Inauguration through a theater performance entitled “Shadow of the Ancestors” . This activity was held at The UBM Lecture Hall, 5th floor, Alfa Tower, Universitas Bunda Mulia Serpong Campus, and was attended by students, lecturers, and invited guests from various study programs. This inauguration became an official forum for students to channel their interests and talents in the field of performing arts both as actors and as creative and technical teams behind the stage. The series of events began with an opening by the Master of Ceremony (MC), then continued with remarks from the parties involved in the formation and development of UKM Teater Universitas Bunda Mulia. The first remarks were delivered by Vianesha Ariadne Santoso, SM , as the Advisor of UKM Teater Universitas Bunda Mulia. In her remarks, she expressed her appreciation for the arrival of the UKM Teater inauguration audience.

The next speech was delivered by Fariz Septian Alam , as the Coach of the Bunda Mulia University Theater Student Activity Unit. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of the practice process, discipline, and teamwork in the world of theater. The event then continued with a speech from Reyhan Alvarez , as the Chair of the Bunda Mulia University Theater Student Activity Unit. The final speech was delivered by Anastasya Dinata Harianto , as the Production Leader of the performance “Shayangan Wakil”. In her speech, Anastasya conveyed the preparation process for the performance which involved the hard work of the entire production team, starting from the planning stage, rehearsals, to the performance. She also expressed her appreciation and gratitude to all parties who have supported the inauguration of the Bunda Mulia University Theater Student Activity Unit, Serpong Campus. Entering the main series of events, the audience was treated to the theater performance “Shayangan Wakil” . This performance is a work for the new generation of Theater Student Activity Unit. “Shadow of the Ancestors” is directed by Fariz Septian Alam and raises the theme of horror regarding humanity’s relationship with the past, ancestral inherited values, and the inner struggle of individuals in understanding their identity amidst changing times.

This performance is packaged through a strong storyline, meaningful dialogue, and conceptual artistic processing. Elements of stage design, lighting, musical arrangement, and costumes are designed to support the atmosphere of the story and strengthen the message to be conveyed to the audience. The entire production process involved students from Bunda Mulia University who are members of the Theater Student Activity Unit, both as actors and as part of the artistic and technical team. The enthusiasm of the audience was visible throughout the two-day performance. The presence of students from various faculties, lecturers, and invited guests reflected support for the development of arts and culture at Bunda Mulia University. The positive response given shows that the performance of “Shayangan Wakil” was able to touch and leave a deep impression on the audience. After the performance ended, the event closed with a documentation session with all the actors, committee, and administrators of Bunda Mulia University Theater Student Activity Unit. This session symbolized the beginning of the journey of a new generation in Bunda Mulia University Theater Student Activity Unit in creating and contributing to the world of campus performing arts.

Through the inauguration of the Bunda Mulia University Theater Student Activity Unit (UKM) on the Serpong Campus, it is hoped that the Theater Student Activity Unit will continue to develop and produce artistic works that are educational, critical, and relevant to social life. The Theater Student Activity Unit is also expected to serve as a platform for learning, exploring creativity, and developing student character, in line with the values of Bunda Mulia University.
