Tangerang, May 30, 2026 – The Student Activity Unit (UKM) iCare has successfully carried out the Hydroponic Workshop “From Bottle to Bloom: Growing Green Through Hydroponics” . This activity was aimed at all students of Bunda Mulia University, and involved iCare administrators and members for the 2025/2026 period. This Hydroponic Workshop was held onsite on Saturday, May 30, 2026. The presentation of the material was held in room R1411, 14th floor, UBM Tower, Sepong Campus, followed by a practical session at the Basketball Court, 3rd floor, Alfa Tower, UBM, Serpong Campus.

At the beginning of the Hydroponics Workshop, all registered participants were required to register at the front desk of the classroom before entering. After signing the attendance list, participants were directed to register for attendance number 1 inside the room. The event was opened by the MC, followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, the UBM March, and the iCare March. Following this, welcoming remarks were given by the Vice Chair of iCare and the Chair of the Event.

Next, the MC guided an ice breaking session to liven up the atmosphere before entering the main event. Then, the MC introduced Mr. Jihad Sholehudin, SIKom. as a resource person in the material presentation session on hydroponics. The event continued with a presentation of material themed “From Bottle to Bloom: Growing Green Through Hydroponics” . After the material presentation session was completed, the MC gave the participants the opportunity to ask Mr. Jihad through a Q&A session. Before entering the practical session, the MC divided all participants into 4 large groups and were accompanied by 1 group PIC, so that the practical session was more conducive. Then, the MC directed all participants to prepare to go to the Basketball Court on the 3rd Floor of Alfa Tower UBM Serpong Campus.

Next, the participants and the resource person prepared themselves for a simple hydroponic practice session. In the initial stage, the resource person explained the steps of a simple hydroponic wick system using used bottles as pots. Then the resource person invited each group to assign 1 representative from 4 groups. The group representative demonstrated to the participants how to make an AB Mix nutrient solution, a special fertilizer for hydroponic plants that will later be used by other group members. Next, the resource person showed the planting process followed by the participants. In this activity, the participants used cocopeat as an environmentally friendly planting medium which was inserted into the inside of the pot. After the planting medium was ready and the flannel wick was properly installed as a nutrient channel, participants planted the kale seeds that had previously been sown by the resource person into the cocopeat . In addition to gaining hands-on experience, the participants also received cocopeat , AB Mix nutrients , and kale seeds to practice again at home.

At the end of the practical session, the MC again guided the event to award the Token of Appreciation to Mr. Jihad Sholehudin, SIKom as the resource person. The activity then closed with a documentation session with all committee members, participants, and resource persons. Through this Hydroponic Workshop, iCare hopes that participants will not only gain material education but also be able to implement this simple hydroponic system sustainably in their respective homes to support the fulfillment of independent, healthy and environmentally friendly food.
