Tangerang, March 1, 2026 – The Buddhist Student Family (KMB) Dhammamitta Serpong Campus held two meaningful activities, namely Fang Sheng and Community Service. These two activities are concrete forms of Buddhist teachings that emphasize the value of generosity and respect for life. Fang Sheng and Community Service not only aim to help those in need but also become a means to instill virtue in oneself, build empathy, and foster awareness that true happiness is born from good deeds done sincerely and selflessly. As a manifestation of these values, this activity carries the theme “One Virtue for the Happiness of All Beings” which emphasizes that one act of kindness, no matter how small, has the power to create a widespread chain of goodness and is expected for the happiness of all beings. To support the success of this activity, an Open Booth donation was previously held at the Student Lounge on the 6th floor of Bunda Mulia University, Serpong Campus. This Open Booth activity took place from February 23 to 26, 2026. This Open Booth provided an opportunity for friends who wanted to participate by donating in the form of money or goods. This activity aims to expand the reach and positive impact, as well as foster a spirit of sharing among the academic community of Bunda Mulia University and the general public. Our event began with a community service event held at the Tangan Kasih Social Foundation located in Kunciran Indah. The community service activity began with an opening by the MC, followed by remarks from the representative of the orphanage’s management, the KMB head, and the event chair. The event then continued with a group activity session. During the community service session, the entire committee invited the orphanage children to color.

The atmosphere became even more lively as the children enthusiastically participated in various games prepared by the committee. Laughter and cheers were heard as they tried to guess each challenge to win the prizes provided. At the end of the game session, prizes were distributed to the winners. The entire series of joint activities held provided space for children to express their creativity through color and practice teamwork while participating in the games. The committee also accompanied and interacted directly with the children, thus creating a warm atmosphere, full of laughter, and joy. After that, the activity continued with a symbolic handover of donations represented by the event chair from KMB Dhammamitta Serpong to the orphanage. This donation was a form of support from various parties who had contributed to this event. The activity concluded with a joint documentation session as a memento of the togetherness that was established. Next, the event continued with the Fang Sheng activity, which is the practice of releasing living beings as a form of respect for life and the implementation of the first precept in Buddhist teachings, namely not killing living beings. This activity began with a prayer recitation led by Pandita Hendra Attamano. The animals released in this activity are birds, where the release process is carried out with great care.

The Fang Sheng event concluded with a group documentation session, a memento of this meaningful event. We hope that the Fang Sheng and “ One Virtue for the Happiness of All Beings “ social service activities will provide positive benefits for all participants and foster a sense of empathy, togetherness, and concern for others. We also extend our gratitude to the donors who contributed funds and goods so that this event could run smoothly and successfully. Finally, we would like to express our gratitude for all the support that has been given and we hope that this activity can continue to strengthen the sense of togetherness and care among all of us and can inspire more individuals to do good and share compassion with all living beings.
