As part of the 2024 Academic Year Welcoming Freshmen program , Bunda Mulia University held a seminar titled “Love, Sexuality, and Healthy Relationships for Young Adults” as part of its introductory program for new students. The seminar featured Zoya Amirin, M.Psi., FIAS, an adult clinical psychologist and the first certified clinical sexologist in Indonesia. The event aimed to foster a more open and scientific understanding of relationships and sexuality among students.

In their presentations, the speakers emphasized that sex is not taboo, but rather a topic that needs to be understood scientifically and responsibly. Students were encouraged to challenge the various myths surrounding sexuality that still circulate in society and replace them with an understanding based on education and health. This is crucial to prevent students from falling prey to misinformation. Furthermore, the seminar also discussed aspects of reproductive health and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), as part of an effort to raise student awareness of the importance of maintaining personal health. Furthermore, participants were also given an understanding of the importance of assertive communication in relationships, enabling them to communicate needs, boundaries, and feelings in a healthy manner to their partners.

Through this seminar, it is hoped that new students at Bunda Mulia University will develop a more mature understanding of relationships, both emotionally and health-wise. With this knowledge, students are expected to be able to build healthy, responsible relationships, and maintain education as a top priority throughout their studies.

Through this seminar, it is hoped that Bunda Mulia University students will be able to navigate relationships more wisely without neglecting their primary goals as students. Throughout their studies, students are expected to continue prioritizing academics as their primary focus, allowing for balanced intellectual and personal development.
