Jakarta, October 25, 2025 — The UBM Hall, 8th Floor, Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) transformed into a lively collaborative kitchen during the CUT The Crab ACP x Crazycrab event — an interactive public lecture that combined academic learning with hands-on experience in the world of seafood gastronomy. This initiative was organized by students of the Hospitality and Tourism Program at UBM, in collaboration with ACP Indonesia and Crazycrab, a renowned crab cuisine brand in Jakarta.
The event introduced an experiential learning approach focused on premium crab processing, from preparation techniques to high-value presentation. Participants gained not only technical culinary knowledge but also an understanding of the economic value and sustainability of local seafood within the modern tourism and hospitality industry.
The event attracted 166 participants, consisting of 80 internal UBM students and 86 external participants from 13 vocational schools and universities specializing in tourism, hospitality, and culinary arts. External institutions included SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Cileungsi, SMK Pariwisata Citayam, SMKN 70 Jakarta, SMKN 27 Jakarta, SMKN 32 Jakarta, SMK Bina Mulia, SMK Science Technology and Business, NCSA (National Culinary Service Academy), Pradita University, SV-IPB University, and Poltekpar NHI Bandung.
Internal participants represented various academic levels—from first to seventh semester—reflecting strong enthusiasm and engagement from students across batches. This collaboration demonstrated the synergy between academia and industry in nurturing future-ready hospitality professionals.
Post-event feedback indicated remarkably high satisfaction rates, with average scores above 4.7 out of 5, or 95–97% overall satisfaction.

These findings highlight the event’s success in delivering relevant, engaging, and impactful learning experiences. Participants agreed that the workshop expanded both their technical competencies and professional networks in the culinary and tourism sectors.
The event opened with welcoming remarks from ACP Indonesia, followed by a live cooking demonstration by the Crazycrab team showcasing premium crab preparation and plating techniques. Participants were encouraged to interact, ask questions, and gain first-hand experience in the professional culinary setting.
The program blended demonstrations, discussions, and reflection sessions, creating a relaxed yet educational atmosphere. Many participants shared that the workshop provided a “real industry insight” and inspired them to explore careers in culinary tourism.
The organizing committee concluded that the event achieved its goals successfully, both academically and professionally. For future iterations, it is recommended to extend the duration of the practical sessions and broaden collaboration with more industry partners to enhance interactivity and depth of learning.
