Bullying is a serious problem that frequently occurs in educational settings, including college. It can take the form of not only physical violence but also verbal teasing and social exclusion. With the advancement of the digital age, bullying has become increasingly complex, occurring not only in person but also online (cyberbullying).
If not handled properly, this can negatively impact students’ mental health, ranging from anxiety and stress to reduced self-confidence, to disrupting academic performance and social relationships. Many victims of bullying struggle to respond or seek help, making them even more vulnerable.
Bullying can be prevented and addressed through proper understanding, mutual care, and healthy coping strategies. With adequate knowledge, students are expected to be better able to protect themselves and help friends who are experiencing bullying. This ability is crucial for creating a safe, inclusive learning environment that supports optimal student development.
Recognizing the importance of this issue, the Student Advisory Center (SAC) will hold a seminar entitled “Bullying and Mental Health.” This seminar aims to educate students about the types of bullying, its impact on mental health, and strategic steps that can be taken to respond to and reduce the risk of bullying in the campus environment.
In addition, this seminar is also expected to equip students with practical insights on how to create a culture of mutual respect, increase empathy, and strengthen social support among fellow students. Thus, students can not only understand the issue of bullying, but also contribute directly to creating a healthy and positive academic environment.
Based on this description, the Student Advisory Center (SAC) is holding an educational seminar as part of an effort to support Bunda Mulia University students in dealing with and preventing bullying.
This seminar will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 11:00 – 12:30 WIB in the Lecture Hall, 5th Floor, Alfa Tower, with Dr. Putri Rosarie, Sp.KJ, a specialist in psychiatry (psychiatrist) from St. Carolus Hospital, Gading Serpong, as the resource person.
