Students of the Hospitality and Tourism Undergraduate Program at Bunda Mulia University (UBM) have once again achieved outstanding achievements on the national stage. At the prestigious Otelion III Hotelier Competition held at Pradita University, Tangerang, on December 8, 2025, UBM delegates successfully brought home medals in every category they participated in. The event, which brought together the best talents from various universities, served as a stage to prove that UBM students are not only strong in theory, but also excel in practical skills in the world of hospitality, food & beverage, and tourism.
From the Cake Decoration category, Eunike Nadia Anindita’s creativity amazed the judges and led her to win the Bronze Medal thanks to her neat, artistic, and visually harmonious cake decoration. In the Making Bed category, Marcelino and Felicia Kristanto’s precision and speed of work led them to win the Silver Medal , demonstrating professional housekeeping standards as applied in the real hospitality industry. Meanwhile, in the Dessert Plating category, Celvin Cristianto successfully presented a dessert with elegant plating, balanced color composition, and proportional texture, thus deserving of the Silver Medal .
In the realm of beverage skills, Amelia Vega Prayogo performed stunningly in the Mixology category with a drink concoction that combined technique, taste, and attractive presentation. She managed to win a Silver Medal thanks to the creativity and precision of her concoction. In the Table Set Up category, Defkin Decalorus’s ability to arrange tables precisely, conceptually, and according to international service standards led him to win a Bronze Medal . On the other hand, the strength of strategic thinking and understanding of modern tourism trends was demonstrated by the UBM Tour and Travel Team consisting of Kevin Hendrata, Leticia Calista, and Vannesya Wielie . Through an innovative, informative, and relevant tour package design to the needs of today’s tourists , this team managed to bring home a Bronze Medal in the Tour Package category. As a complement, in the Manual Brew category, Adrian Clarance Laistinoes demonstrated his expertise in manual brewing techniques to produce a consistent aroma and taste of coffee, leading him to win a Bronze Medal . Behind these medals lies the important role of the supervisors of the Hospitality and Tourism Undergraduate Program at UBM: Mr. Ika Suryono Djunaid, S.ST.Par.,MM.Par., Ms. Stephanie Rosanto, B.Bus., M.B.A., Mrs. Lamtiar Hema Mahalini, S.Par., MM , Mr. Vishnuvardhana S. Soeprapto, BA., MA. , Mr. Prayogo Susanto, S.Par., M.Par. , Mr. Yudhiet Fajar Dewantara, S.Pd., M.Par. , and Mr. Ika Suryono Djunaid, S.ST.Par., MMPar. Through intensive guidance, competition simulations, and mental coaching for competition, these lecturers play a major role in preparing students to be ready to appear and compete in the national arena. This series of achievements at the Otelion III Hotelier Competition not only brings honor to Bunda Mulia University, but also reflects UBM’s commitment to producing graduates who are professional, confident, and ready to enter the highly competitive hospitality and tourism industry. This success is expected to be a spark of enthusiasm for other students to continue honing their skills, dare to take on challenges, and make every competition a learning space as well as a stepping stone to a brilliant career in the future.
