West Jakarta, November 12, 2025 – Bunda Mulia University (UBM) Serpong Campus once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the improvement of digital literacy in the community through Community Service (PKM) activities held from October 1 to November 12, 2025 at SMAK Kalam Kudus II, West Jakarta . This activity carried the theme “Digital Security: Protecting Data on the Internet in the Modern Era.”
This program was attended by several lecturers from the Faculty of Technology and Design , including: Mega Kartika Sari, ST, MT, Ph.D., Ferry Agustian Sukarno, S.Sn., M.Sn., Angelina Pramana Thenata, S.Kom., M.Kom., Rosalia Deviana Cahyaningrum, S.Pd., M.Sc., Yemima Monica Geasela, S.Kom., M.Kom. In addition, male and female students of the Information Systems Study Program also played an active role as presenters in delivering education to students.
This PKM activity was held in response to the increasing threat of cybersecurity. The material was delivered through interactive presentation sessions, open discussions, and simple simulations on how personal data can be exposed without their knowledge. Students were also encouraged to understand basic digital security measures, including the use of strong passwords, two-step verification, and being wary of applications and websites that request excessive data access. Student involvement not only increased interaction during the counseling but also helped SMAK Kalam Kudus II students understand digital security issues from a perspective closer to their world as a generation of active internet users.
The evaluation results showed a positive response from participants. The majority of students considered the activity beneficial and relevant to their needs as a generation of internet users. This PKM also strengthened the collaboration between Bunda Mulia University and SMAK Kalam Kudus II in efforts to build digital awareness in the educational environment.
Through this activity, Bunda Mulia University affirms its commitment to making a real contribution to society, particularly in the areas of digital literacy and information security. This collaboration between faculty, students, and secondary education institutions is expected to be a sustainable step in developing a younger generation that is more aware of digital risks and able to maintain personal data security in the modern era.
