On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the 3rd semester students of the Leisure & Event Management, Hospitality and Tourism Study Program at Bunda Mulia University, Serpong Campus, held a Mix & Mingle event titled “Flavor Fusion: From Theory to Practice” at The UBM Master Kitchen, 10th floor, UBM Tower. The event was led by the Event Chairperson, Candy Maqdalene, together with the 3rd semester Leisure & Event Management students as the organizing committee. This activity was aimed at UBM Serpong Campus students to participate as attendees.
The purpose of this event was to introduce Mixing Drinks, particularly mocktail preparation, to students. It was specially designed to help participants gain a deeper understanding of the art of beverage-making, while also broadening their knowledge of drink presentation standards in the hospitality industry. Participants not only received theoretical knowledge but also had the opportunity to directly practice beverage-mixing techniques that are creative, innovative, and aligned with industry needs.
The event was hosted with great enthusiasm by the Masters of Ceremony, Steven Julius and Yolanda Putri. The opening session began with the Indonesian National Anthem Indonesia Raya and Mars UBM, led by Mathilda Roseline Madewa, followed by welcoming remarks from
Dr. Patricia Robin, S. Ikom, M. Ikom, Manager Academic 1A UBM Serpong Campus, Ms. Feronika Berutu, S.ST., M.Par., Hospitality and Tourism Lecturer at Serpong Campus, and Candy Maqdalene, the Event Chairperson.
The program continued with the introduction of the guest speaker, Mr. Roylies Vauzi Permana, currently serving as FB Supervisor at DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta – Diponegoro, presented by the MCs, Steven Julius and Yolanda Putri. The session was then followed by a seminar, where Mr. Roylies enthusiastically and informatively explained how to prepare the signature drink “Happy Dragon”, made from kiwi and dragon fruit, while also sharing valuable insights and professional experiences to address participants’ questions.
After the seminar session, the event continued with the Workshop session for five lucky students who had the chance to directly practice making the “Happy Dragon” mocktail demonstrated earlier. The participants were selected through a fun game, and the best mocktail creation received prizes sponsored by Spooniesnyum and Ken.. The event then proceeded with presentation of Token of Appreciation to Mr. Roylies for sharing his knowledge and expertise during the event by Ms. Feronika Berutu, S.ST., M. Par.
The program continued with a short presentation by Ms. Sellyka N., Learning and Development Manager at DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta – Diponegoro, who introduced the hotel’s internship program. Afterwards, remarks were given by Teh Tjap Daun, before the event concluded
with a group photo session with the committee and the guest speaker. The MCs then delivered the closing remarks, officially marking the end of Mix & Mingle “Flavor Fusion: From Theory to Practice.
Through this event, the 3rd semester Leisure & Event Management students hope that it will not only serve as a project for the Event Logistics and Sponsorship course but also help UBM Serpong Campus students broaden their knowledge and enhance their skills with the valuable expertise shared by the guest speaker.
