Jakarta, June 3, 2025 – The 2025 KRA (Accounting Regional Conference) XII International Conference was held again with the theme “Empowering the Future of Education and Research: The Nexus of AI, Ethics, and Sustainability.” This event highlighted the importance of the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), ethics, and sustainability in the development of global education and research.
Held on June 2-3, 2025 in a hybrid manner, this conference was held by the Indonesian Accountants Association (IAI) of the East Java Region in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics and Business, Airlangga University, and involved Bunda Mulia University (UBM) as one of the co-hosts.
Bunda Mulia University’s participation in this international scientific event is a strategic step in line with UBM’s status as a global standard campus that has been internationally accredited. This participation strengthens UBM’s role in the world of higher education, especially in the development of research and cross-institutional collaboration.
On the first day, the event was opened with an Opening Ceremony and remarks from the Rector of Airlangga University and the Chairperson of IAI KAPd. The Keynote Speech was delivered by Prof. Stella Christie, Ph.D., Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. The event was continued with a Parallel Seminar discussing various topics such as management accounting, auditing, taxation, Islamic accounting, and sustainability reporting. The Parallel Presentation session was also held offline and online.
Bunda Mulia University student, Therianty Surya Pranoto Hakki, was one of the presenters who participated online, presenting her research entitled “Auditor Specialization, Chairman of the Audit Committee Characteristic, Board Network, and Audit Quality” under the guidance of Tandry Whittleliang Hakki, S.Ak., M.S.M. The first day was closed with a Gala Dinner to strengthen the network between participants.
On the second day, several other UBM students also presented their research results. Meyliana presented her research “Does Sector Matter? ESG Scores and Firm Value Across Industries”, supervised by Dr. Ririn Breliastiti, S.E., M.M., CSRS and Catheryn Iona Nelson, S.Ak., M.Ak. Aline Sanjaya and Icha Veronica presented a paper entitled “The Relationship between AI and Forensic Accounting: Can AI Detect Fraud in Accordance with the Principles of Sustainability and Professional Ethics?”, under the guidance of Devica Pratiwi, S.E., M.Ak., CSRS.
The conference was closed with a closing remark and the announcement of the Best Paper of the International Conference KRA XII 2025. The active participation of students in this scientific forum reflects Bunda Mulia University’s commitment to fostering a generation of superior academics who are ready to compete globally, and shows the full support of the supervising lecturers in developing the quality of student research..
