On December 12 2022, the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program at Bunda Mulia University held an Industrial Visit to the Gran Melia hotel Jakarta. The Industrial Visit that was carried out had two main agendas, namely conducting a Hotel Tour to see how the operations of each department in the hotel were and also carrying out Table Manner activities. There were 347 students who took part in this activity accompanied by 7 coordinating lecturers. This activity is divided into 2 sessions, namely the first session from 09.00 – 14.00 and the second session at 14.00 – 19.00. Participants are formed in small groups when doing a hotel tour, where they are invited to tour the rooms and facilities owned by the hotel. The second activity is carrying out and implementing good and correct Table Manner, which is taught by a direct representative from the Gran Melia Jakarta hotel. The food served consists of four dishes starting from the Appetizer – Pumpkin cappuccino, milk foam, seeds, Cinnamon, Main Course – Chicken Breast, Cauliflower, cabbage pickles, Chicken jus and Dessert – Vanilla crème Brulee. With this activity it is hoped that students will gain direct operational knowledge from each department in the hotel which can help them consider the chosen specialization in the coming semester. The Table Manner activities undertaken during the Industrial Visit are also expected to be able to add soft skills and hard skills from students so that they can later be used when they need them in the hospitality world.
