Universitas Bunda Mulia Management Study Program Presents a Guest Lecturer with the Theme “Optimal Portfolio Construction”

On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, the Management Study Program of Universitas Bunda Mulia held a Guest Lecture with the theme “Optimal Portfolio Construction,” aimed at students taking the Investment, Securities, and Portfolio Management course. This Lecture was attended by fifth-semester Financial Management students of the Management Study Program, as well as Mr. I Gusti Agung Musa Budidarma, SE., M.Acc., Fin., Ph.D., as the Head of the Management Study Program. The speaker for this Guest Lecture was Dr. Hendri Setiadi, a Certified Wealth Management Analyst at IDX Channel and Founder of Mastermind Trader.

The event started at 1:30 PM WIB and was opened by Handoko and Lia as the Guest Lecture MCs. After the opening, a brief introduction of the speaker was delivered by Mr. I Gusti Agung Musa Budidarma, SE., M.Acc., Fin., Ph.D., before proceeding to the main session featuring the material presentation by Dr. Hendri Setiadi.

During the material presentation session, Dr. Hendri Setiadi presented a topic titled “Optimal Portfolio Construction,” which comprised five subtopics: Portfolio Diversification and Risk, Portfolio with Two Risky Assets, Stock, Bond, and Bill Allocation, The Markowitz Portfolio Selection Model, and Risk Pooling, Risk Sharing, and Long-Term Risk. Throughout this session, students displayed great enthusiasm as they listened to the material. The interaction between the speaker and students, including mini-games and joint problem-solving activities, was particularly engaging.

Following the material presentation session, a Q&A session took place between the speaker and the guest lecture participants, moderated by the MCs. The Q&A session began with the first question from Steven Jonathan Salim, the second question from William Hakim, and the third question from Vincent Colin. After the Q&A session, the event continued with the presentation of a token of appreciation to Dr. Hendri Setiadi, handed over by Mrs. Tannia, S.E., M.M. The guest lecture concluded with the completion of the attendance list, questionnaires, and a group photo. The event ended at 3:30 PM.

The hope is that this Guest Lecture will enhance students’ understanding of various investment steps as a foundation to build a more optimal investment portfolio.
