Abu Dhabi University organized the 2nd International Conference on Advancing Sustainable Futures, at the The Ritz Carlton, Abu Dhabi on 11-12 December 2024. This year, the theme of the conference is Innovation and Digital Transformation for Sustainable Futures. Opening ceremony commenced at 9.00-11.30 AM local time, or 12PM – 2PM WIB, on Wednesday 11th December 2024. During this conference, two UBM faculty members of Ancol Campus Management Study Program, namely, Dr. Hans Harischandra and Dr. Siti Yasmina Zubaedah, presented a research paper entitled “Sustainability Practices: A Study for Retailers.” The research involved a 5th Semester Management student, Clarissa Kurniawan.
The paper presented was based on a case study of PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk., implemented Environment Social and Governance (ESG) programs, which was analyzed from the disclosed information in the published Sustainability Reports in the period of 2019-2023. This case provided evidence on how corporations are able to consistently attain competitive advantage while developing sustainability practices and contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The 2nd ICASF Agenda
During the 2-day conference, ICASF included plenary sessions and panel discussions, as well as paper presentations in parallel presentation sessions conducted in various tracks, including Innovations in Science and Engineering, Digital Transformation in Business Management and Law, Green IT Innovation and many more. Other Presenters
Representing the authors, Dr. Siti Yasmina Zubaedah presented on Thursday, 12th December, in the afternoon session of the “Philantropy and Corporate Social Responsibility in Digital Age” track. After five other presenters, Dr. Siti Yasmina Zubaedah presented virtually at 05.45-06.00PM local time or 08.45-09.00PM WIB. The allotted time for each presenter was 10 minutes followed by a brief question and answer sessions. The track session ended at approximately 06.15PM local time or 09.15PM WIB, and the 2nd ICASF concluded with a closing ceremony. Overall, the conference was a great success and the discussions provided great insights on the many research works prevailing in the topic sustainability.
