On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, the Management Study Program of Universitas Bunda Mulia, Ancol Campus, conducted a Community Service Program (PKM) at SMA Tarakanita, South Jakarta. The event was conducted onsite, starting at 10:00 AM WIB. In this Community Service Program, Dr. Velly Anatasia, SE., MBA., a lecturer of the Management Study Program was the main speaker, one member of the Excellent Community of Management (XCM) is a student of the Management Study Program, Livia Evangelina Florencia (12230242) assisted in a workshop on Problem Solving.
The event moderated by teachers from Tarakanita Senior High School, consisted of two sessions. The first session featured a presentation by Dr. Velly Anatasia, SE., MBA., on Problem-Solving. The second session included a hands-on activity involving students creating a “Paper Chain” under specific rules: each student could only use one hand and could not speak within the team. This activity aimed to deepen the students’ understanding of problem-solving.
In the first session, Dr. Velly Anatasia, SE., MBA., shared valuable knowledge and experiences related to problem-solving, providing students with essential guidelines for identifying and addressing issues wisely and effectively. In the second session, there had been selected 12 participants out of a total of 30 students, dividing them into two groups of six members each. During the activity, students had 30 seconds to discuss their strategy to make the longest paper chain. Following this, they worked on the Paper Chain for 20 minutes, adhering to the rules of using only one hand and remaining silent. The group producing the longest Paper Chain was declared as the winner. This activity tested team leaders’ coordination skills, teamwork, and overall cohesion on solving their problems.
After the activity, the results were evaluated, and a Q&A session was held to discuss the keys to success and the challenges encountered by the groups. Students also had the opportunity to ask Dr. Velly Anatasia, SE., MBA., further questions gaining additional insights. To recognize their enthusiasm and efforts, both groups received tokens of appreciation from Dr. Velly Anatasia, SE., MBA.
The event concluded with a photo session, marking a meaningful experience for the students. The workshop and activity were designed to develop the student’s problem-solving skills, particularly benefiting those aiming to run for the position of Student Council President (OSIS SMK Tarakanita). Strong problem-solving abilities are crucial for addressing various challenges they may encounter in leadership roles. This program also fostered valuable learning experiences, strengthened collaboration among all parties involved, and left a lasting impact on the students of SMK Tarakanita South Jakarta.
