On Saturday, November 9, 2024, the Excellent Community of Management (XCM) organized a Public Lecture themed “Future and Forward Contracts.” The event was held onsite in the Premiere Room on the 2nd floor of Universitas Bunda Mulia Ancol from 15:30 to 17:10 WIB. This event was open to students of the Management study program and required for students taking the Risk Management course.
The event began with a greeting from Wily Dozen as the MC, who guided the proceedings. It was followed by a welcome speech from the Head of the Management Study Program, Mrs. Tannia SE., MM., who attended online via Google Meet. After the welcome speech from Mrs. Tannia, the MC invited the moderator who would guide the Public Lecture, Mr. Alexander Robert, BA., MSc.
The event then moved to the main session, which was the material presentation by Mr. Jimmy Dimas Wahyu Indraseno, SE., MM., AEPP., CFP., CWM, who was the speaker for this public lecture. Mr. Jimmy began by introducing himself, his background, and his experience in the field of financial management, followed by a discussion of investment instruments available in Indonesia and their differences from investment instruments abroad. Mr. Jimmy then proceeded with the main topic, explaining what future and forward contracts are and how they work, followed by a brief explanation of margin calculations in future contracts when making profits.
After the material presentation by Mr. Jimmy, the event continued with a Q&A session between the speaker and the Public Lecture participants, moderated by the MC, which showed the students’ enthusiasm when asking questions. The session was followed by the presentation of a Token of Appreciation to Mr. Jimmy, the speaker for this event, presented by Mr. Alexander Robert, BA., MSc.
The event concluded with attendance and questionnaire filling, followed by a group photo with the speaker and all participants of the Public Lecture. It is hoped that with the organization of this Public Lecture, the students can gain a better understanding of Future and Forward Contracts.
