On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, the Management Distance Learning Program organized a public lecture themed “Capital Market.” The event was held online via Google Meet from 6:30 PM to 8:10 PM (WIB). This event was open to students of the Management Distance Learning Program and mandatory for students enrolled in the course Banking and Other Financial Institutions.
The event began with greetings from Mr. Alexander Robert, BA., MSc., who served as the MC and moderator guiding the session. This was followed by an opening speech from the Head of the Management Study Program, Ms. Tannia, SE., MM., who joined online through Google Meet. After the remarks from Ms. Tannia, the event continued.
The event then proceeded to the main session, featuring a presentation by Mr. Varel Joan Kusuma, BSc, the CEO and Investment Manager of Joan Kapital Investama, who served as the guest speaker for this public lecture. Mr. Varel began by introducing himself, sharing his background and experience in the capital market.
He then discussed the history of the capital market in Indonesia and the various parties involved in trading within Indonesia’s capital market. Subsequently, Mr. Varel delved into the main topic, explaining what the capital market is and the fundamental investment strategies that must be understood to generate profits.
After Mr. Varel’s presentation, the event continued with a Q&A session between the speaker and the participants of the public lecture, moderated by the session’s host. The enthusiasm of the students was evident through their questions. The event concluded with a Token of Appreciation being presented to Mr. Varel as the guest speaker for this event, handed over by Mr. Alexander Robert, BA., MSc.
The event concluded with attendance and questionnaire submissions, followed by a group photo session with the guest speaker and all participants of the public lecture. It is hoped that through this public lecture, students will gain a deeper understanding of the capital market.
