In higher education, lecturers play a crucial role in shaping a high-quality future generation. The primary duties of lecturers are not only to teach but also to conduct research, engage in community service, and contribute to the development of knowledge. Lecturer self-development involves not only improving teaching skills but also enhancing research capabilities, self-management, interpersonal skills, and contributions to society.
To address this, the Management Study Program organized a lecturer seminar-workshop with the topic “Lecturer Self-Development: Maintaining Professionalism in an Academic Career” on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. The speaker was Prof. Rofikoh Rokhim, SE, SIP, DEA, Ph.D., and the participants were lecturers from the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Management Study Program at both the Ancol and Serpong campuses. The seminar-workshop began at 9:00 AM via Zoom Meeting and was opened with a welcoming speech by Dr. Lelly Christin, SE., MM, Dean of the Faculty of Social and Humanities 2 at Universitas Bunda Mulia.
The event proceeded to the speaker’s presentation session, moderated by Mrs. Sophia Reni Susilo, SE., MM. The material presentation began with Prof. Rofikoh Rokhim, SE, SIP, DEA, Ph.D., sharing her journey and experiences throughout her academic career, which served as an inspiration for the lecturers to develop themselves further. It was conveyed that a lecturer must fully and optimally perform the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi) to establish a track record that will guide them in defining their goals as educators. On this occasion, Prof. Rofikoh Rokhim, SE, SIP, DEA, Ph.D., also shared advice and key points for lecturers to maintain professionalism in their academic careers.
The material presentation was followed by a Q&A session, where participants enthusiastically asked questions and engaged in discussions with the speaker. After the Q&A session, a Token of Appreciation was presented to the speaker by Dr. Lelly Christin, SE., MM, and the event concluded with a group photo.
The seminar-workshop ran smoothly, and it is hoped that this event will provide significant benefits for the academic career development of the participating lecturers.
