Capital Market Goes to Young Generation” was a theme organized and hosted by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Deputy for Macroeconomic and Financial Coordination, Assistant Deputy for Capital Market and Financial Institutions, and Mandiri Sekuritas.
As part of efforts to develop the capital market by increasing the number and activity of investors, the government continues to enhance coordination with relevant institutions and organizations, including conducting public outreach and education activities.
On Thursday, January 11, 2024, Universitas Bunda Mulia Ancol participated in this event. The participants included all lecturers from the Management Study Program at Universitas Bunda Mulia, along with active students from the program, who also represented members of the Excellent Community of Management (XCM).
The event was opened by Mrs. Ribkaria and Mr. Ferry Irawan, Deputy 1 of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. They provided an overview of the performance of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IHSG) throughout 2023. This was followed by presentations from Mrs. Grace, Mrs. Vitri, Mr. Agus Muntholib, and Mr. Yulius Kurniawan. They reviewed the performance of Indonesia’s capital market in 2023, discussed current economic issues, and highlighted that investor tended to adopt a “wait and see” approach due to the prevailing market conditions.
The discussion then moved on to the role of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in the development and protection of capital market investors in Indonesia, as well as tips for financial planning and the causes and effects of fraudulent investments (investment scams).
This was followed by a Question-and-Answer (Q&A) session, where participants had the opportunity to ask further questions. The event concluded with a group photo session for documentation purposes.
