Preparing Competent Journalists in the Digital Era, UBM Communication Science Lecturer Provides Creative Writing Workshop at SMK Saint Joseph, North Jakarta

Dr. Rewindinar, M.Sc., a postgraduate lecturer at Universitas Bunda Mulia, along with students Clara Agnesia Herlambang and Jessica Firenza, conducted a Community Engagement activity on Friday, August 11, 2023, at SMK Saint Joseph. Dozens of male and female students studying in Central Jakarta participated enthusiastically and actively in the event. Creative writing skills in the digital era were imparted to participants from three departments at the school: multimedia, mechanical engineering, and motorcycle engineering.

“I enjoy writing, and I’m glad that today I can learn and directly practice with the content I create,” expressed one student who attended the workshop and has an interest in food reviewing.

Through explanations, group discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and engaging activities that kept the event dynamic, all participants enthusiastically remained engaged until the end of the activity. The efforts of this event, as part of Community Engagement, aimed to prepare students who will eventually enter careers in the field of communication, including becoming proficient journalists through creative writing in the digital era.
